UC 2009 'END GAME' | FriaBière | 3D | Sliced Empire - 10-04-2009, 06:36 AM

Hello everybody, and good luck! I'm reserving this spot for our team, FriaBière, Fria for fresh in spanish and well Bière from the language that does the best Beer in the world. Enough of this, more of that:

We're complete now:

Team:
-ParoXum
-JostVice
-Holi

Name: Sliced Empire
Rough Story: Called by their mothership, Alien Eggs coming from the center of the earth create devastating landslides.

Here's the concept by Holi:

Here the check-list of all the assets and texture space organization:

here is our mockup, we will paint the concept over it

what you're seeing is a big fracture in the middle of a city, with a underground metro line cut in the middle with the trains falling and some buildings being split

Here's a first quick pass I did yesterday on it, Now that Holi joined us he'll surely make something better (I'm not good at all at painting) starting from that point !

What we thought of was that giant fracture causing an earthquake in the city, and some green rays of light coming from it, the cause is not clear in our minds at the moment, but it's gonna be unearthly anyway !

The scene happens 5 minutes or so after the earthquake, smoke and falling sky scrapers exploding in the background.

We also thought of a path formed by debris going into the fracture and lost in the darkness, more to be done on this...

Update on the freeway, I modelled it at an equal level of detail and will surely optimize it more when we know exactly what direction we'll see it ingame. It's smooth and clean at the moment but expect it to look smashed and demolished soon:

All UVs are done, but what you see as texture is actually the AO bake.
Crits are welcome

lookin' legit. Seems odd having two 2 - way lanes in the middle though.

Good luck fittin' as much of this into your concept shot as you can! Of course you've always got your second shot to show this stuff off with too.

More researches on the mothership:

some alchemy work to warming myself up:

Then I worked on paintings. I had hard times on this becose I usually do not do industrial designs.

I'm not completely satisfied, so, more to come ...

Dabeast: Thanks
crazyfingers: Thanks, I modelled more of that freeway than what's gonna be shown on beauty shots but it might become useful later if when constructing scene in UT there's a good area around it to take a shot.

Holi should finish the metro tunnel soon, and Jost is working on the train HP when he can. Kisses from belgium :X

Nearly finished all my demolished building set modular pieces. Still got the floor asset to do, as well as a pillar. Also some rubble debris to create from concrete blocks and broken bricks to come later this week I hope.

I have made progress on the canyon too but it's not worth a shot yet imo.

This wall looks nice dude. Would be interested in seeing how you unwrapped it and the low-res geo.

Cheers
