A few of the guys on #model_design and myself have decided that in honor of Team Fortress 2 making its way closer to being released (we hope...) that it's time to dust off the old floppies and start up a Team Fortress server to get some good ol' fraggin action in again. The server will NOT be up 24/7 and will only be up in the evenings as it will be running on one of my machines from my house.

First off, you will need to make sure that you have Team Fortress version 2.5 and QuakeWorld or Fuhquake (Cheap, keep out of this thread with your retarded nonsense..).

What we really need is a list of maps you guys want to see on the server. I will make a list, grab them all and then upload a nice zip pack with all of them in it.

Most of the stuff you need can be grabbed from the link posted above.

So, what say you? Are you men or mice?

To get rid of the hassle of using the original QW client you can use:

http://fquake.sourceforge.net/
or
http://www.fz.se/filer/archive.fz?id=504

sorry about the second one being in Swedish but I think most of you are smart enuff to figure out where to click.

Man I lost my quake disk years ago. Know where I can find quake these days?

BTW, I will post here when we are getting a game together and then post the IP at that time. Since this is my home machine, I don't want everyone and their brother showing up. =] Polycount folk and invited guests only. ;]

posting registered full pak1 of quake = warez.

If you don't have Quake, you could always use OpenQuartz (http://openquartz.sourceforge.net) if you can tolerate the artistic retardance

Some fun maps:

OK, if anyone is paying attention, the server IS running currently. If you want to play, please join #model_design on irc.freenode.net (or use the java client on the front page of polycount...) for the IP. I want to be able to control who does and does not get on the server as well as the number of people. Hope to see yah soon!
